Euro roadtrip – day 10

The hotel in Lyon was a very pleasant experience after the not so nice one the night before ?. Nice comfortable beds, very nice staff and good location. And a very nice lit skyline picture in the room.

We started the day with breakfast in the hotel, and then we packed our stuff in the car. The plan today was to first see some trompe d’oeil – paintings on the buildings, typical for Lyon. So we went to a part of Lyon where there are several within walking distance. It was really impressive, especially the huge one representing the history of Lyon. 

Lyon also had many nice buildings and doors, door knobs etc. A very pleasant town to stroll around in, we really liked it so we will probably return here in the future. ?

After the sightseeing, we went to a nearby shopping center for some lunch, and for a quick visit to Primark. ??

Then it was time to drive towards Champagne, the drive was about 4,5 hours.

The drive went smooth today and we arrived in Champagne 17.20, with a ten minute margin to shop in JM Gobillard in Hautvillers before they closed for the day. ✌️

After shopping there, we went to our hotel to check in and unpack.

Then we went to buy some groceries, and we prepared dinner in our room today, for the first time in this vaccation. ?

Then we just chilled in the terrace outside our room and had some champagne and when it got too cold (hey, we are now used to 30 degrees in the evening so 20 ish is freezing cold for us ?) we went inside and played some cards. A very nice relaxing evening. ?
