Av We made the desicion to take a village/wineyard tour before lunch, and the kids wanted to stay in the hotel so we let then do that, they have been to champagne before and are not too happy about wineyard visits anymore… wonder why… ?So we set course on the village of Mardueil and the winehouse of Beaumont de Crayeres where we tasted a couple of different champagnes and found some we liked.
After Mardueil we continued our countryside drive to the town of Vauciennes and the champagne house of Castelger. There we tasted several different champagnes, and they were really nice and very good in pricing. The staff in Castelger was very nice also, so this is a place i think we will return to in the future.
After these visits we decided it was time for lunch so we went back to the hotel and picked up the kids and grabbed some lunch. Then we took the whole family and drove to Epernay to buy some new champagne glasses and visit a couple of champagne stores that sell many different champagnes. One of them (C Comme) has really funny pictures to represent the different wine producers. ?
We also made a quick stop in Paul café to get some energy, and after that we just strolled around in Epernay.
In the afternoon we had booked a boat Cruise on the Marne river for 1,5 hours. The weather was great and the boat ride was so nice, and yes, of course they serve champagne onboard… ?
After the boat Cruise we went straight to McDonalds to get some quick food and head back to our hotel to eat. The evening was relaxing today as well, some card game and of course the packning of the car (not so pleasant).
Tomorrow morning we will leave early, we have around 14 hours drive back home so we want to get started really early.
