Sweden roadtrip 2020 – day 6 Kiruna/Abisko

Today it was time to leave Kiruna and head towards Abisko. Camp Ripan in Kiruna was very nice, we could definetly go back.

We started our drive to Abisko, and we had a beautiful drive there. Everywhere you look there are mountains, lakes and beautiful surroundings…

We arrived in Abisko turiststation a bit early but it was no problem to check in early. We made some lunch and after that we headed out in our hike fir the day: Rallarkyrkogården and also a visit to Silverfallet. Rallarkyrkogården was about 3,5 km walk from the parking and took us about 1 hour. Since we have one 10-year old and 14-year old along on the trip we are careful to plan the hikes so that the whole family can enjoy them. We stopped for some snacks and to just enjoy the views as well.

After we had some fika in Silverfallet, we headed back home to our cabin, to relax a bit before dinner. The dinner was booked in the restaurant Lapporten in STF Abisko. And it was no disappointment. I had reindeer tartar as a starter, reindeer filet as main course and rhubarb trifle as dessert. Yum yum!

After dinner we went for a short walk around the canyon before we headed back to our cabin.

Everybody else fell asleep quite quickly but i sneaked out for some pictures of the magic midnight sun…
