Av Last morning in our wonderful hotel in Cap d’Ail. We had a nice breakfast in the terrace and packed the last things and then we checked out. The route for today can be found below – Cap d’Ail to Antibes via Nice by the coast.
We drove along the coast even though it is not the quickest way, but it is definetly more beautiful.
We arrived in Nice right before lunch and strolled around there, there was a nice market that we ran into. Our goal was the shopping center Nicetoile. After some shopping, the lunch stop for the day was the tapas restaurant El Merkado. Yummy yummy. ?
After lunch we were so warm, the degree has been around 33 degrees celsius in daytime the past 5 days. So before getting back in the car to go to Antibes/Juan les Pins we decided to go to the beach in Nice. The water temperature, view and experience was so nice. After strolling around in a city this was just what we needed ?.
We continued towards Antibes and arrived around 16.00. The hotel parking was 32 eur per day but we found a parking house in the congress centre 300 meters from our hotel where 3 days parking cost 50 eur, so we went fot that option.
The hotel Garden Beach has a great location right on the beach. And right on the main street with lots of restaurants and shops.
We decided to go for a quick swim after checking in, but strange enough we were not allowed to do so in the hotel beach, that beach was reserved for guests that rented sunchairs for 20 eur per person, not really an option 17.00 in the afternoon…. But lucky for us, 3 meters away there was a public beach where we could swim, so the problem was easily solved. But a bit strange of course that the hotel dont offer better service to their guests, not even a discount in the rental fee for the chairs.
After the swim, we got ready to go and grab something to eat, and we found a really simple establishment ”Wall Street” nearby the hotel. Nice burgers and kebab for very very reasonable prices, the whole family ate for 24 eur. No tables, just a hole in the Wall, so the food is made to be eaten on the go or takeaway.
After dinner we walked by the beach and had some icecream and just watched the sunset.
The evening was finished with some ”plump” card game, with our new golden Eze souvenir… ?
